please help, i went to the coop to let my hens out,and one was still on the perch. she was not willing to come out. her wings were drooping. when i picked her up a lot of very watery stuff came out her vent. she is unwilling to eat or drink, but seems alert. i have her in a crate now,and she is resting, but water still is coming out of her vent.

Is it water? Or, could she be eggbound? Egg that broke inside? Try and see, very gently, and from the outside, if you can feel an egg stuck. Search here for 'eggbound' and follow the directions for a warm soak.

I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help...hopefully, more people will jump in and have some better advice.

i just checked for eggbound. it seems like her tummy is painful. i didn't find any signs of being eggbound.

it's hard to tell who is laying and who's not in my flock. it's a free range deal here. the hen house is closed at night, but they go in and out as they please during the day. i work second shift,so i'm only here in the morning.
