Ok , this is starting to bother us. We have lost yet another hen. This one showed the same signs as the last two that we lost , but there has been a few months between the loss that we are not sure what is causing this. The hens will be fine , then go to not eating much, and walking in a hunkered way with butt draging the ground. We started this one on antibiotics and 2 days later , she was dead. We want to worm all the new ones before they start laying , but when reading the Wazine medication bottle, it says not to give to chickens when u are going to consume the eggs. Does anyone know what this can be that is killing the hens , and also of a good womer medication taht we can use and still use the eggs after a certain time? Thanks

What are you feeding the hens? Do you use any DE in your coop and run? Give a little more information and I am sure someone on this site can help! Sorry for the loss....

describe the droppings..color and consistency
are the vents clear and clean?
do you give crushed oyster shell?
have you found any soft shelled eggs?
what all do you feed the chickens?

what antibiotic did you use?
at what dose?

Wazine 17 is fine to use..just withdrawal the eggs for
about 10-14 days ..but they can be fed back to hens.
Wazine is piperazine..only gets rid of adult round worms..
they will need to be retreated in 10-14 days.
