Hey Guys, I’ve got this young female runner duck who hasn’t been doing well recently. She has this poor posture, she struggles to walk and flap her wings and only comes out of the shed to eat and drink but always lying down. Any suggestions maybe medical.

How old is she ? Has she been laying eggs before and now stopped? What do you feed her? Does she have access to a calcium source such as crushed oyster shell on the side?
It would not hurt to give her some calcium supplement in case if she is egg bound it will help get it moving out. Even if she is not egg bound the calcium won’t hurt but if she is bound it can help greatly.
You can give either a calcium citrate with D3 tablet,(the regular humankind) or one ML of liquid calcium gluconate (sold at Feed stores or online and says that it’s injectable, but we give it orally to ducks with a syringe that has no needle attached) continue dosing daily until the problem is solved
Also give her a nice long soak in a tub of lukewarm water.
Where do you live? Is it freezing outside? ( If you bring her in for a soak in lukewarm water do not bring her right back out in sub freezing temps.. It will shock her system too much. )
Here’s how to give oral medicine
