Sick Keet or just odd?

Thank you - I'm going to go on ahead and put corid in the water for all of them just in case...
Have you checked the bottoms of his feet? I had one that would go so far w/the others and then lay down and refuse to move. When I checked, he had a sore toe from being pecked. That sprawled out position is how they lay when content, but the lack of activity & low appetite is concerning.

I did look at his feet and they seemed fine,,, But - I put corid in their water last night and he is ALREADY popping around at least 50% more than he was. I don't know if corid will help coccidia that fast!? But whatever it is, he's feeling better. I'll keep on putting it in for 5 days like the guides say - hopefully he keeps on getting better!!!!

Glad to hear it!

Update - He is MUCH perkier. I realize correlation /= causation, but the coincidence factor seems pretty high, so I'm guessing coccidia. THANK you my friendly backyard chicken friends!!!! I love this little guy and all of them - and he may very well have been the keet in the coal mine, if you get my drift. Dosing now probably saved a lot of lives. :thumbsup🥰

Completely understand. Everything I had read indicated that it wouldn't be the cause in new keets, yet I kept losing them everytime I had some shipped. Noticed someone else used corid bc 1 keet just didn't seem right. The next time, when I was losing them left & right-I remembered that and figured I'd already lost so many I didn't have much to lose by treating them-and the rest survived. 🤔 Merck manual says it's an opportunistic protozoa and stress can cause susceptibility. Plus, as soon as we get them we start dowsing them w/electrolytes and vitamins which don't have complete b complex vitamins in them but components of that are part of what protozoa thrive on. (Not making declaration, just observations.)
The urge wld be to immediately tx with corid, but that wld be a bad idea, since it cld strengthen resistance of protozoa to tx and rob the keet of nutrients. But in the future I think the first keet I see going down hill, I'd seriously consider tx.🤷‍♀️
