Sick Keet, trying my best but Need Advice/Help

The brand of starter feed isn't really important, just be sure to look for Turkey, Game Bird or Pheasant starter with anywhere from 27-30% protein in it. Animal protein (usually fish meal) is better protein, but soy will work fine too. Medicated feed won't cure the keet if a cocci overload is the issue, so if you suspect a cocci overload I'd go with the Corrid for treatment, as suggested by [email protected]

I'm far from an expert... but try to help when I can. Thanks tho :)
Best of luck with your little guy

Just so you know, we have a horrible, horrible time here getting gamebird feed over 24%. You can find some additives such as blood meal (crude protein of 80% and can be added up to an 8% mix without negative impact according to A&M and Auburn poultry sciences) or mealworms (49-56% crude protein depending) or crumbled eggs (11.5% in a whole egg, if yolk only, it's 15.5%). If you need help figuring out the ratio to mix the feed, there is a site here that can help. You may want to consider unsweetened plain yogurt or kefir (if you have any) - just a tsp mixed in his feed - for the probiotics to help aid his digestion and increase the ability to process the food - but, I'm not sure how well he would handle the lactose...Peeps?

I've used a yogurt and starter feed mush quite a few times to feed weak keets and it usually helped get their energy up and get them going.... if they were lactose intolerant they didn't show it!

Thank You ALL SO very much. We were able to get both a higher protein game bird starter and the Corid at our local Exchange. He/She seems to be a bit perkier (eating and drinking), still weak though. My Husband has assumed the role of Momma Hen, and assures me the little tike is on the mend. We will have to see.
Though I am new to having fowl, I could not see life with out them. =)
