This hen is four years old and last weekend we were attacked by a raccoon. We found her laying on the floor away from the other hands so we brought her inside. She has a very difficult time eating and the only time she drinks is when I drop water next to her beak I usually have to open her beak to put some food in or she eats her feed by herself, but that is very rare. She has watery green poop and her keel bone (I think) seems to be protruding. Any ideas of what it is or what to do?

Usually some sort of stressor, like a disease, or in this case, a racoon attack, cause watery poop. Her keel bone protruding could be caused by broken bones from the attack/ bone displacement, or be caused by starvation thinning her muscles. Her old age and the stress could kill her by itself, and I would recommend molasses water and nutri-drench to up her blood sugar and get her some nutrients.

Is she able to stand and walk, or move her legs and wings? How is her neck? Do you have any pictures? Does she have any wounds or punctures? Hibiclens and water are very good to clean wounds, followed by plain antibiotic oinmtnet twice a day. I usually mix a small bowl with water and chicken feed, and a little cooked egg and dip the beak to get them started. Feed 2-3 times a day and offer fluids mire often. Tube feed is something you could consider learning if she won’t eat.

She can stand and walk, I just brought her outside today to see her sisters through the fence. It seems uncomfortable for her to move her neck and it's tucked into her body. I will try to upload a picture and no she didn't have any injuries or punctures.

I would check her chest neck and sides for any air under the skin, which could be a leaking air sac from a bump. Does she have any trouble breathing? Is her crop empty or full? Her chest looks a bit full in the picture.

She breathes fine and her crop was not full in the picture, she had just had some water. She started eating by herself though so that's a good sign!
