Hi all I have a guinea who is 7 months old he is one of a trio ou of the same clutch. He/She is sitting all the time with the beak pointed straight up, doesn't move around shows no fear, when it is moved has no coordination and flops over been this way for a week now not getting better it is in with 3 other guineas and several small bantams. I'm lost as to what to do for it. All other bird look act and eat just fine. Help please I love my guineas and I hate to loose this one! Thank You and God Bless~~~~~Kim in Ky

Please go and retrieve the link to your post in the disease section. I can not find it.

We all want to help, but this one has me stumped too. I have a few guesses, but I need others to chime in to give you a decent answer.

However, DO go and pull this bird off the roost and bring it into a warm, quiet area. DO NOT give it food, water is OK for now.

We need pics please, it really really helps.

I had a guinea to do this and it wouldnt eat or drink. It was about the same age also. It couldn't stand only sit. When it tried to get up or when i helped it just flopped over. Since it wouldn't eat nor drink after a day or two it got real slow and weak. Therefore, I humanely uthanized (sp?) it to keep it from suffering anymore. It was missing any feathers or wasn't bleeding or anything

. I just happened to see it one day lying down and not moving. It was like it was just paralyzed on one side or something. I'm sorry!

Well I justed wanted to update about the guinea who is holding his head straight up and acting weird.
When I went out to feed yesterday I put the food in the bowls and started cleaning the next room of my chicken house when I looked over to see the birds, all 4 guineas were standing and eating and I couldn't tell which one was the hurt one! Now after they finished he was back in his usual position backed up to the wall with his head straight up again! At least I know he is eating! Thanks for all your replies, I'm going to just keep watching him and see how he does~
Be Blessed~~~~
