Ok... I have a 15 day old IB Peachick...
Drinks and eats ok, a bit picky but eats... Gets medicated starter feed .. Still in brooder by himself as he was a late hatch and has lamp on him/her... I clean the brooder every 4-5 days as it is just him... Yesterday cleaned box and did not notice anything as I held him in one hand and cleaned box with the other... Today when I put some hard boiled egg yolk in a dish for him he came and hopped into my hand.. I noticed almost right off the difference I felt in his breathing.. I could feel a 'rattle' like feeling as he breathed in and out... Held him to my ear and could hear this ' rattle'... Worried some kind of lung infection/problem? Any ideas? What do I need to give him ??
I do have 6 other Peachicks but they are not even in the same room together and I use hand sanitizer or wash my hands before and after doing anything with each group of birds.. Also have 6 adult peafowl and all are healthy... So, what can I do for my little guy?

Does the chick have to open it's mouth to breath or through its nostrils?

Through its nostrils
If it's breathing through his nostrils then it's not labored breathing then he's not choking or stressed.

Don't think I've seen him eat much at all tonight... Seemed to like egg yolk but not eating much this evening... Concerned
... I did see him drink...
Is it still rattling its throat? Maybe it's trying to wash down the egg yolk. Not sure what could be wrong with it. If it was labored breathing then there would be a big problem. Since it's still breathing through the nostrils it maybe just trying to clear its throat if it's drinking a lot.

He's perky this morning...eating right now.
Yes I have been hard boiling the egg yolk that he gets... And he doesn't seem weak... Of course sleeps a lot ..

Sounds good to hear. When you said was drinking more it made me think Salmonella because Salmonella can cause birds to drink more often.
