1) What type of bird , age and weight (does the chicken seem or feel lighter or thinner than the others.)
Polish, almost 1 years old
2) What is the behavior, exactly.
Today I found her at the top of the roasting bars which is unlike her to not get down in the morning.
I put her down and she’s laying down, bobbing her tail up and down, has an open beak breathing heavy, ruffled feathers
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms?
Found her like this at 10 am, she was fine last night
4) Are other birds exhibiting the same symptoms?
No but I did lose a healthy silkie last week out of nowhere, not sure if that’s related
5) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma.
No
6) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation.
No idea
7) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all.
She has liquid in her croup so I assume she drank
8) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc.
Haven’t seen her poop yet
9) What has been the treatment you have administered so far?
No, unsure what she has
10 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet?
Prefer to treat myself
11) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help.
12) Describe the housing/bedding in use
They live on straw and chicken sand. Currently she’s isolated in a pen.
