Hi guys I have a pullet that I have found twice upside down in the food bowl in the past week. When she is startled she falls over and can't move for a couple seconds. She is unsteady on her feet also. Yes she was pecked at while stuck upside down.
 
She could be suffering from a neurological problem such as encephalomalacia, avian encephalomyelitis (only if she is under 6 weeks old,) Mareks disease, or something other. I would probably cage her inside the coop and run with food and water for her protection. In the water, I would start poultry vitamins in case of vitamin deficiency. Is she having any weakness or paralysis in a leg or wing, or curled toes? Is her neck twisted or in a peculiar position up or down?
