Sick Pullet (with pics) -- Lethargic, droopy tail, and not eating or drinking much...

You can also get metronidazole at Pets Mart or other pet supply stores. It is actually for fish. If you just ask for it they probably won't know what you are talking about. Follow the directions from the other BYC members for dosing, as I have forgotten. I hate to say this - but if your chicken 'doesn't make it' - DO A NECROPSY ! There are instructions (somewhere) on BYC or Google it. It is not fun but you need to know the exact reason the chicken was sick. Take picture of the insides, especially the liver, gizzard and heart. You should do this (I so hope you don't have to) away from the other chickens for bio-hazard contamination reasons. I lost 12 chickens to a nasty disease before I finally did a necropsy. Wish I had done it with the first one. Would of saved me a lot of money time and heartbreak. Best wishes for you and your little chicken, I hope your next post is one saying she got well.

UPDATE (for the actually reason this thread was made..):

I wasn't able to get the things recommended for Camellia (my red star), but I did keep her isolated and had her on strict layer's rations and fresh water everyday. She's gotten to the point where she's pushing our of the cage now, her droppings are looking more normal (still a bit of yellow though, but it's dull) and she took a dust bath for the first time in two weeks. I did check her (externally) if i can feel an egg, but there's still nothing. She's running with the flock again right now. Could it have been the fact that she hasn't laid an egg for a long time? It's been about two months, maybe more. She's still young, under a year, but i can't help but worry about her still.

None of my girls have the same problem. It's just her.
