This morning when I opened my coop and let out the flock, my White-Crested Black Polish roooster did not go to the feeders or interact with the other birds. He is standing still, head down, and does not respond to my calling. If I pick him up he will protest and make some noise, but when I set him down he resumes this stance. Not interested in food or drink. I have a small (16 birds) flock. They are in a very clean enviroment, free- range in my yard (supervised) approx 2-3 hours daily. Plenty of clean food and fresh water. These are Meyer Hatchery birds, all purchased at once, vac for Mareks and have never been exposed to other birds. Any ideas on the problem here?? Thanks for the help.
