Sounds like Coryza to me. Cull! You CAN NOT CURE CORYZA, you can only mask the symptons with antibiotics. They will always be carriers. Yes, burn the body and the bedding that the chicken was on. Then sanitize like crazy. Good luck, I hope your other chicken don't get it. It's a nasty disease.

The vet told me that burning is the only safe way to go, and to burn far away from your flock.

Coryza did horrible things to my poor sweet girls.

After I started the Sulmet the ones who weren't in bad condition quickly recovered, but since they remain carriers for life it really did me no good and I had to disinfect and start over with new chicks.

I disposed of the rooster. I thank everyone here for all your good advice! I just spent the past few hours disinfecting everything, and I believe to have contained it completely.
