Do you by chance want to send him in for a necropsy? that way you can find out what happened? Sounds almost like what happened to my hen she was so weak and finally died. I did a necropsy on her and found out she had a heart attack.

Sorry for your loss. You could keep his body on ice in plastic bags inna cooler or refrigerator, not freeze, and send him to your state vet lab in Trenton, NJ for a necropsy. That would give answers as to what killed him. Here is a list of state vet labs:

Yes. How did you do that. We called our local vet and we have him packed in ice in a large cooler for the night. I am assuming they will have me bring him in...poor guy

He did pass away. I am heart broken

I know this happened a while ago, however I'm sorry that you lost your rooster. Mine is doing the same thing and I was reading your chat to see how it turned out.... I lost my favorite hen a few months back, she was like a pet almost and it bothered me a lot. Take care
