Hello,

Two weeks ago, I had a tom that had a somewhat cyanotic head and looked "stopped up". The crop looked swollen and he had some mucus coming out of his beak. Not knowing what he had, he died after about a week. Now, my other tom is doing the same thing. Thinking its blackhead, I treated with safeguard and metronidazole. He has more strength this morning but is still very "stopped up" and seems to have trouble breathing. The mucus smells like infection but is clear. Am I correct in thinking blackhead or is this something else?

Does anyone have any idea of what this could be? All hens and young birds continue to do well, seemed to only affect toms.
