Hi every one, I have some bourbon reds. When I went to the barn tonight I noticed my old hen was tilting her head around upside down. Last year we had something go through our flock and the poults were doing the same thing. We lost all but one. We are starting to hatch now and I don't want to go through this again. Any ideas?

I just saw your post. Sorry to hear about your turkey. How is your turkey doing?

Please read my post to see if your turkey has these same symptons. As jasonm11 said, I have experienced the same thing with my oldest turkey (Tom turkey). I am still dealing with the twisted neck. This is an exhausting process but I won't give up finding out what is wrong with my turkey. He is NOT suffering, so this is why I still have him around. If he were suffering, I would not allow him to suffer and I would quitely and humanely euthanize him.

Please keep us posted on your turkey. I will try to help you as best as I can.

If this sickness wiped out your flock before, you should probably separate the sick hen from the others, give them all new bedding, mix your feed with medicated starter, and put something like Rooster Booster in your water to see if you can keep from repeating your flock dying
