Ok, My turkey have the same problem. I have been using duramycin in the water now for almost 2 weeks, and they are just getting worse! Now one has died, and the rest look awful. The duramycin is a water solulble oxytetracyline. Tylan and LA-200 are also oxytetracyline. If my strain of disease is resistant to oxytetracyline then what else can I use?

Tylan is not a tetracycline, it is a macrolide antibiotic (a 'mycin' drug)- they have very different spectrums of antibacterial activity. Neither will do anything for virus (or fungal or parasitic). The best thing to do in m mind would be to get a diagnosis- MANY organisms can cause upper & lower respiratory problems. All you have established with the 2 week's use of oxytetracycline is that the organism is not susceptible- so it is probably not mycoplasma if they are getting an appropriate dose. Have you tried contacting your state lab, or local poultry extension people? Many states have free or low cost help for small farm folk- they do to survey for disease, but it is very helpful for the average chicken/poultry keeper.

My turkey has the disease for a month now. The antibiotics didn't work. Her case seems to be constant though. No idea if she will recover. The rest in the flock still have something like a cough/sneeze as a left over. Is this gonna live them?
