sick turkey poult gapping & stumbling

Eating and drinking normally. Poop looks very typical, definitely nothing alarming. Sleeps with head in wing position. The only symptoms the little guy exhibits is mouth breathing and stumbling. Can stand up but very wobbly.
Another thing to consider is possible injury. These guys can get quite excited (just "feeling full of themselves"/practicing at sparring/startled by pred or other "unknown" appearing suddenly) and strike their heads against a roof or roost and become "addled"; also, have watched sparring toms, for years, and all that neck wrapping/knock down-drag out with no injuries to the necks. However, one bad flight into wall of shed and days of open/close beak-shift neck around this way and that, constantly.

Eating and drinking normally/normal droppings?/ what position does it take when sleeping? Head under wing/neck stretched out?

Could be gapeworm, so you might want to get some safeguard and give him 0.23ml per pound orally for 5 consecutive days. Might also be a respiratory infection. Any discharge from his nostrils? Any bubbles in the eyes? Facial swelling? And lung congestion?

is the only place they get gapeworm from earth worms? Pens are outside with grass and vegetation but ground is dry and hard as a rock for 2 mths now. I rake the poo up and remove every few days. I probably should worm everyone for goodmeasure. This guy can I try both antibiotic and wormer?

I think so. He doesn't feel too heavy.I can feel the breast bone. All of that hatch is about same in size. My toms from last year are 25lbs. I feed this group regular game bird feed, grass, some apple and whatever bugs they tackle.

Not out of the woods just yet. But doing so much better with input from BYC members! A big THANK YOU to Kathy for walking me thru tube feeding and sharing your experience. Breathing great, now to just get this kid on her feet and walking.

Made a turkey sling with an old crate, my husbands nailer/stapler, and an old towel.
