i have red bourbon turkeys and i have a tom who is sick and dont know why,its looseing weight fast,gave it a shot of tylan 50,fresh water and food,but still loosing weight,hate to loose him,,,what to do? he is in open range walks where he want to at night i lock him up while the other turkeys roost in trees,,
 
Yes, but there is a failure rate for almost everything; still, definitely worth tackling rather than culling. You can, over enough generations, breed resistance to it. But I don't know if that works when using artificial treatments which do the immune system's work for it while also harming it, rather than supporting it as it develops natural immunity.

If you prefer antibiotics etc, CasportPony is one forum used who is usually pretty helpful, she can tell you what to do in terms of antibiotics; the search bar in this forum will let you find her profile and look at old threads she's been in, where she's already answered this question, or private message her directly.

I prefer natural methods but that's not something everyone feels comfortable with; an accidental treatment I discovered for advanced cases of BH involves raw cow's milk and honey, the former not being something everyone can get hold of. Some people give them a teaspoon of cayenne a day or some such and find that works too.
