Sick Turkey

I have a turkey that has a cough/ rasping sound when breathing, do you think it is safe to slaughter and eat it?

If it were me, I would be too afraid to eat it. But that's just me.

i think if it's respritory you should be OK. you may want to try a round of tetracycline in the water for 10 days. my turkey had something going on, sneezing/coughing/ making this funny noise, and just feeling lousy, no strutting, etc. I put him on a round of this for 10 days and things cleared up. he's back to his normal self now - gobbling away and strutting for the girls.
