Sickly Barnevelder chick, puffed up, no appetite

So, update to today, not much has changed in her behavior but her appetite has perked up so I am taking that as a good sign. If she makes it, great! If not, then so be it, although I am loath to lose any of this breed! I am wondering if this is also a failure to thrive situation. She is half the size of her hatch mates who seem to have grown substantially in the past week so maybe she is just a weakling runt!

Hi folks, thanks for chiming in here. Yes the poop is much more cream colored than bright yellow, I should have mentioned that also. Thanks again @aart. I put her back in with the hatch mates (also being treated with corid) but the e-coli thing has me worried now. Wouldn't all the chicks come down with it?
How do I treat? I can see about getting a fecal test, somewhere :idunno
I just mentioned E.coli because I thought the poop was more yellow, since that is a sign. But if it is cream colored, I would think coccidiosis. It is hard ro tell with them sometimes.

How was she today?
You know, there is no change in her posture, her wings are still droopy, but she is moving around with her hatch mates albeit much slower and gets left behind most of the time. She moves with a kind of a waddle, if I didn't know better I'd say she was a duck!! She drinks well and seems to be eating OK so I just don't know what to think! I guess this is just going to be a wait and see. I will continue with the Corid for the 7 days or whatever they call for.

...and now?
OK so get this, today I took some spaghetti noodles out to the hens for a treat. This is as much a treat for me as it is for them, just watching them hare around with these things in their mouths is funny stuff. Anyway, this little sickly chick waddles right into the middle of the pack and snatches a noodle that must have been about 3 inches long and runs off with it. I watched that chick suck down that whole thing without any trouble whatsoever! IDK what to think about her! She still has the same look about her!

Interesting! Maybe she just doesn’t like your regular feed. :D

Perhaps so. I mean I see her pecking at the feed because the others are pecking at it but maybe she is just not eating enough of it. She seemed a bit better today, she didn't have her neck all squinshed up like she usually does. I am going to try to get a photo of her tomorrow alongside her buddies and you can see how little she is! Maybe I'll try to feed her some mash or something.

Well I don’t know much about nothing but I noticed you said in your original post “she has no internal injuries”
But there’s a
Possibility that she could of gotten injured from the older hens??
I’m glad she’s doing better. Being the smallest she just might be a target for bullying and getting pecked. Sometimes shock looks like what you described (minus the poop).
Just a thought.

Yes, the bullying thought had occurred to me at the time but she manages to get out of the way pretty quickly whenever the big girls are around. I am thinking that she has 'failure to thrive' syndrome, if there is such a thing! She is so, so small in comparison to her mates. :idunno
