I'm not sure what the laws are where you are... I know in the US you can't get back more than the value of the animal.

Poor guy had such a rough start, but look at him now. what an amazing story i hope these people get shut down for good.Update on this, turns out the owners of Capalaba Produce own another store called Pets Galore in a town about a two hour drive away. A group on Facebook that's over 1,300 people strong just got in contact with me after discovering Whistles' page and that he was from Capalaba Produce, they've been campaigning against this other store - getting into the local papers and everything. I'm stunned. They've even got over 1,700 signatures on their petition to stop them from selling companion animals: https://www.change.org/petitions/to...of-companion-animals-at-pets-galore-toowoomba
I've got in touch with a couple of animal lawyers, we're just waiting for the next pay day until we can organise a consult to see what we can do. Capalaba Produce did in fact have a sign up that stated all animals sold were healthy, so I'm sure we can use that against them. But I think we can make an even stronger case now that we've found out about their sister store. I'll let you know how that goes, but pay is only monthly so it'll be a couple of weeks yet.
Whistles still has a few more days of medicine to go, but he's walking around willingly a little bit more and not swaying as much when he stands. It's a slow progress, but it's progress nonetheless.![]()
Also - Capalaba Produce have taken their Facebook page down, too many negative reviews against them, I think! The page for their other store, Pets Galore, has also been taken down.
But on a more light-hearted note, here's some new photos of Whistles!
^ His one stitch from his minor surgery. The vet said it'll disintegrate by itself.
I agree some kind of vitamin supplement that has B3 in it[niacin] is going to help with leg strength. and over all health[ look in the poultry section at local feed store or on line]Is he on any vitamin supplements? Perhaps that can help with the leg problems?
I'm SO glad to hear about his improvement!
