Sigh. Bought a duckling at TSC but I had to.

When I went to get feed today, I saw a lone duckling in with a bunch of chicks so I HAD to buy it. Now I'm glad I did because my 2 little call babies seem to like him. He just looks so huge next to them.

Ducks are so much fun, but never again. Tried them 3 years running, but they free ranged with my chickens and apparently couldn't escape daytime predators fast enough. They would need a pen on complete lock-down here and I just can't do that.
Adorable things though! I had to get my teenaged daughter to help me treat one once and she almost lost her mind, said they had snake necks! :lau

Mine are all penned. I just got back into ducks. When I had them before, I didn't have the facilities that I do now. I raised ducklings in the house and spent way too much time cleaning the messes they made. Things are a lot easier now so I'm enjoying them a lot more.

If I ever get the gumption again, maybe. But like you, have to raise younglings in the house. So much work and smell, it was fun to watch them swim like fish though. They are far more endearing, or maybe just more comical, than chicks.
