*sigh* I'm loosing my touch. (Warning: Hi-jacked by Em)

eenie don't pack away the books people are crazy (I ought to know mama always said it takes one to know one) books, on the other hand are sane, they never change aren't 2 faced.... well ignore me I am getting bitter and ever more crazy in my middleagedness......
This is fantastic advice. Unfortunately I have to pack away the books so we can move to another state.

Books may not change, but we sure do. Re-reading some books that I enjoyed when I was a kid has occasionally given me a new perspective on a familiar story. For example,I was probably about 10 the first time I read My Friend Flicka. At the time, I totally identified with the daydreamy, sensitive Ken, and could see how intimidating his father was to him. Reading it as an adult, I could still understand Ken, but I could also understand the father, and see how passionately he cares about his son, even though he doesn't really understand him. A really good author writes people, not just stories, and there's something for all levels of readers in that.

No one is having any coffee on the other forum...Can I hang out here? BTW...I've already lost my touch. I've looked and looked but it's nowhere to be found.

HiYa, CW - welcome! We're all a little out of touch here in the Kingdom. We're having a picnic down by the moats - bring your bathing suit.

The moat denizens are generally very pleasant as long as they are well fed.

Rumors of me feeding newcomers to the 'lovelies' are greatly over exaggerated.
