was out in the duck with Alaskan when Alaskan noticed that one of the baby ducks had a piece of membrane welded to its head so i reach in the nest kuhflecken (the name of our mother duck) nipping me all the while Alaskan unglued the membrane and as i put the baby back kuhflecken takes a big ol' bite out of my hank and hangs on (luckily not for very long) and when i escape and look at the damage i find a heart-shaped welt with a red dot in the middle

Next time have Alaskan grab the duckling and you remove the membrane.

Yep, heart-shaped red spot of LOVE!!!

Glad we did it though. The little duckling managed to be welded pretty solidly. A little warm water, and perfection was reached. However, a sweet mama duck trying to remove odd dried on membrane might have been nasty.

Might have been a moat-like experience!
