*sigh* I'm loosing my touch. (Warning: Hi-jacked by Em)

Sunny isn't lame, but she seems to contemplate moving for a moment before she actually does it - so yeah, I'd say she's sore. I gave her some Banamine, I have kept it on hand for the minis for years (not a good idea to give Bute to a mini). I really need to get some Bute as well, it's not as expensive, and I understand there are some things that it works better for, anyway.

It's funny that you asked about Critter being sore. Critter is my DH. He'd been putting in a brick patio for someone for the last couple of days, so yeah, he's pretty sore, too. Don't think it would be a good idea to give him Banamine, though; he'll have to make do with Ibuprofen.

Oh sheesh I thought the horse's name was critter.... Hey you can give em bute.... Very bad for people but its used... Its like asparine one much more macho....

Banamine is great stuff. I found out that it will help with a feaver too. My girl was flat out when the barn called me.... She had a temp of 104 and was making little Big horse moaning sounds.... Laying down does that with horses they arent equipped to lay down for long...(for the non horsey peeps).... the vet gave her a dose of banamine and she was up on her feet within a half hour and nosing me for a carrot. I figure my girl is just a drama queen.... LOL. But the vet says the banamine while a muscle relaxant also aids in bringing a temp down.

Now with her being sixty miles from the nearest vet and a vet call is $$$ I talked em in to supplying me.

Y'know, there's a drug used as a sedative in large animals that is fatal to humans - represses the part of the brain that controls breathing. It has an antidote, though, and anyone that chooses to use it knows that you prepare a dose of the antidote first, so if you accidentally inject yourself with the sedative, you hopefully won't die.

Would that be Ketamine? part of the date rape concoction.... its a paralytic in the right doses....

Microchips don't broadcast, so they are only good for scanning after recovery, anyway.

A GPS, now . . . .

How's that collar working these days, my Queen? Any updates lately?

It's a hallucinogen in the right amounts too, sometimes called Special K

Bunny, Yeah, RFID is not ideal for that kind of things. Tracking a phone would be a simpler solution. The collars only give a few miles too, unless it's a mobile network based model... Now there's an idea.

There are human grade drugs that if taken too large of a dose can do the same thing. A family I know had a son od that way, and his brother and 2 friends never tried to call for help because they didn't want to get caught by the cops with the drugs that they where going to sell at a concert later.... Made me sick thinking that youd let a family member or friend die that way because your not man enough to face the time....
