Sigh... where / how to sell extra birds

I sell my culls to asian customers. If there is an asian restaurant near you mention that you have happy healthy roosters for sale. That's how I began this service. I have rcvd as much as $20 for a 5 month delaware and $5 for a 4 month new hampshire. I deliver birds in a pet carrier and they return it. My culls have been treated very well for some weeks and are dispatched quickly with much celebration.

$400 for a puppy thats not bad at all! My friends that have had litters recently sold them for$2000 each although they are Irish Wolfhounds and show dogs so a little different market!

We are aiming to breed for SQ birds but arent at this point marketing for that, if someone comes to us looking for such a bird thats fine but we arent looking for customers. Rather we are selling our cull hens to various local farms and people looking for laying hens. Most like that we have breeds well suited to our climate and that they are rare. As it is we already have a list for everything that we can cull next year. The farms like that they can get started birds from us to replace their older hens and not have to deal with raising chicks. As with all agriculture find your niche and market it.

Roosters are another story. Finding people that want a rooster is pretty difficult, occasionally someone comes over and decides that they really want something. Normally however we dont really worry about it roosters are either butchered or they go to the stable and serve as pest control there until they have the misfortune of flying into the Irish Wolfhound pasture. No I am not making money on my roosters this way but I am not spending more on them either!
