Well, I'm fairly certain I screwed up my first hatch. I had everything set up, incubator was stable so I set the eggs then the weather decided to spike to well over a hundred here. I had to install ac in the house and then my temps were all over the place for the days. I now have a core temp of 99.5 +-.2 degrees but I'm afraid it's too late. Blah.

Don't give up on them! They can take some variation. Cooling down can make the hatch late, but that's fine - after all, mama hen gets off the nest for up to a half hour each day. As for getting too hot...well, I had a batch survive the temp spiking over 113 degrees. Just wait, candle them at the seven day mark, and see what you have :)

That is what I'm hoping for. I am hoping things turn out well in the end. At least my girls should be laying not long after these come out and I already have a BC black Polish roo who is ready to get going with the hens. (it's funny cause he is only like 11 weeks and isn't really sure what he is doing).I might have a chance to try one more since winters come late here.

Well, I candled last night and I definitely still have life! Maybe things will be okay after all.
