Since we're near Tehachapi I'd like to visit the ranch. Hoping to get a call back so I can get directions. There is an old thread about SP but I wanna see if they changed now.. I don't trust shipped birds 100% UNLESS I see the parent birds and feedback from other buyers and the website doesn't have either. What I'm looking for? A Japanese bantam pullet or two, I lost my favorite black-tailed buff pullet and now only the rooster is left. She completely vanished too, no feathers found anywhere and no signs of struggle in the banty run, the other birds weren't shaky or scared, and no other birds harmed or taken. Anyways I'm dying for a couple chicks and I'd like to know what the guy in Stallion Springs has now. OMG I kind of want a mille fluer (sp?) bantam too..
I don't put credit cards online at all either so maybe I can order from his ranch or something..
His website also said something about classes for kids on making a poultry business in your backyard, now I may be a senior in high school but I qualify as a kid! I might look into that too.

One last question, lol, the website said there's discounts for 4-H members, I'm in CA so how do I join one? Does it cost money? Do I need to have fancy show chickens? I don't exactly have fancy show chickens... >_>

You don't have to have fancy chickens to join 4-H. I started out with some less-than -perfect show birds. It costs about 14 dollars for a years membership. Trust me, it's WORTH IT. just go online and search for 4h clubs in CA.
