I have three 2 1/2 month old pullets, one a dominique, one Barred rock, and one silkie. We recently added 2, three month old red sex links. The red sex links are twice the size of the barred rock and dominique. Could it be that they are older than 3 months? If so, what are the signs that they will soon lay? I can't wait!
On a side note, the dominique and the Barred rock are not accepting the new sex links. They don't peck them, but they chaise them around and wont let them eat or drink. It's kind of funny to see theses two tiny pullets chasing around these big chickens though. The red sex links start screaming every time one comes near. I tried taking the barred rock and dominique out and left the silkie with them(hoping they would make friends), but they attacked the silkie. Thats when I put her "protectors" back in. They wouldn't even think about it when my BR and Dom are around. Is there anything I can do to ease this transition? Will they eventually become friends?
