What is best age to integrate?
Ursuline would say day 1 with the broody. These girls are almost half size at 6 weeks and I'm thinking of moving them into the flight cage for mingling. They are beside each other and ignore each other. Hmmm. they are wanting to roost instead of huddling too.

Try it out and see.
They should all behave soon enough.

Since this thread is active and you're obviously chicken people... does anyone have advice on candling eggs? I've got two due to hatch tomorrow but when I attempted to candle -poorly I might add- today it didn't look promising. What's a good makeshift way to go about it and exactly what am I looking for on a fully developed egg?

Ok that's what I used and I think I saw that on one of them. But I expected movement. Should there be movement?
