Silence Is Not Golden Here

@jwyles - If you do decide to get a kune kune (or two), I really recommend going through a real breeder with registered stock. A lot of people are out there selling "kune kune" pigs but they are mostly mixed. The mixes will not have the same behavioral traits that are so desirable in the kunes - not challenging fencing, extremely gentle and not rooting to name a few. Of course, if you do get piglets, I demand photos!

Started with 7 chicks last year, after saying "never again" for all these decades.
5 made it through the year and I added 5 more this April. Decided I needed a roo in May.
Now there are 11.
Mixed flock: 2 buffs, 3 Barred Rocks, 5 EE, one white Banty
All are for soil amendment, bug control, amusement and eggs. In that order.

Sounds lovely! I got mine last year as well. Started with 9 and now have 15. 2 EE, 2 Ameraucana, 1 salmon faverolle, 1 fbcm, 1 leghorn, 1 barred rock, 1 light brahma, 2 mf d'uccle, 2 silkies, 1 bantam Cochin, and my 2 day old newly hatched olive egger. Mine are basically for the same purpose as your girls and love every second of having them.

It is definitely not happening until we get out of this neighborhood I'm in. I have 1 yr left of school and then buying some land is hopefully soon to follow. After that come kune kune - MAYBE! And if they do happen there will definitely be photos!

wow. made it through all 118 pages. what random, off the edge fun.
thanks for the diversions, wisdom and good tips along the way.
just what was needed.

Its been a definite boredom buster for me. I haven't read all but plan to. I have this entire month off from school and decided I was well deserving of a full on lazy day (and possibly a couple more before I go back )but I don't know what to do with myself so byc and this little thread to the rescue. It's also a great way to get familiar with the site members who are very helpful when I have my 1,000,001 questions! :duc

So it begins....

I love the orange ones with black spots! Whipple is dark brown as an adult and Cookie is white with black spots and kinda orange legs. They both have very different personalities and they even like different foods and beverages. Whipple LOVES beer. Like, crazy loves beer. She gets one as a treat every now and then. Cookie prefers milk. I guess Whipple is a drunk :)
We need more pictures of the the drunkard and her pal!
