Silence Is Not Golden Here

They belong to my girls. Only my kids have specific chicken breeds on their Easter list (I've created monsters). They are very cute and super friendly and easy to catch. They are probably the best pet chicken of all the ones I've got and actually decent layers of tiny eggs that my husband pickles but... they are extremely vocal with high pitched screams and I absolutely dread when they get going. I don't know if this is common place as the two I've got are all I ever owned but just know they are capable of producing velociraptor like screeching sounds!!! Also they are actually kind of bullies. I worried about them getting picked on in my mixed flock but they seriously hold their own against everyone!

I have 3, I never thought of the velociraptor comparison...but you are right! I've had to run outside on more than one occasion thinking someone was being murdered...nope...just them being them.

As far as egg sitting, I've noticed they will individually sit on 2 but anymore than that they tag team...so 3 and up will have two of them sitting together/on top of one another.

Looks great but please tell me you buried the wire cloth into the ground or are putting something up against it to keep from predators digging/sliding underneath. I just got in a little while ago from cleaning out the chicken houses and I should have taken photos of the backside of the coop/run. Something was definitely testing the perimeter for weak spots to go underneath. Luckily I have wire buried, spiked underneath just in case and then two layers of pavers in front and inside the wire walls. Also two layers of different wire cloths...just to waist height.

I will put slabs against it when I go back out. The skeeters were just too much.
Something is making up a heck of a racket outside.... Brb.
