Silence Is Not Golden Here

Only one has flown over the fence so far, Kes, my mostly white EE. And even then she paced next to the fence trying to get back to her flock... The turkeys are racing around and singing, they're so happy to be out of the coop. They're tied for funniest with the one Welsummer who hasn't figured out how to get out of the coop yet... She'll pace back and forth at the wire wall, and when she gets to the open door, she looks panicked and turns around!
My Welsummer is just about the stupidest bird I've ever known. She is so skittish and panics to get back into the same coop that she has for years, every single night!

I still have 25+ boys of my own to deal with.

I'm procrastinating over picking which of my Serama boys to keep. And hoping that there are only two of the eight muttlies that turn out to be male.

Jet has the best feathering, but he's rude to the pullets and lowest rank of the older boys...
But Copper has good feathering and better type...
Scotch is the most polite to the females, and head cockerel, but has the worst feathering...
And then the younger three, who haven't really shown what they'll be yet, but have very low tail carriage still...

My older Serama boys are in juvie for the night, and may be spending a few days in isolation. They chased the smallest EE pullet, not even close to lay, into the coop and had her cornered there when I chased them off her. Guess I can't keep procrastinating on kicking some out... I was hoping to hold off until I saw what the youngest three turned out like.

Probably have to put them in the quarantine pen until they either get over their hormones, or go to new homes.

Edit - Well.

Tomorrow a friend is taking two of the older Serama boys. She was going to take whichever I decided not to keep and rehome them for me, but we had decided to postpone that. She went ahead and posted them on Craigslist, for $30 each - I'm keeping the third older boy. She got an immediate hit from someone who wants them both. So they'll be staying at her place until she meets the guy who's buying them.

:yesss:

Is your friend the middle man so you don't have people coming onto your property?
