Silke Hen-Somethings wrong-NEW PICS!

Hahah! My rooster won't even mess with my current broody! She is nuts! The cat surrenders her food dish immediately and the broody leaves the most disgusting pile of broody poo next to the water every day!

I'll see if I can't find a pic of the broody as an example of how turkey they look!

Edit: Here's the nut. She's now been sitting for about 6 weeks.

Yup, broodies can look pretty scary. My one buff orp broody attacked my labrador who tried to sneak a peek inside the coop. He laid right down on his back to surrender and I had to throw her off of him. Funniest thing I've ever seen.

Let's just say he don't look inside the coops anymore.

OH my gosh I am sooooo slow......I have an adopted ameracuna bantam..... sitting on a lone egg........infertile egg that is...... I just now thought of putting my other hens eggs under her.....she pops out once in a while I will have to sneak in their when she does, as the other eggs are fertile .......but she is downright scarey for being so little !

Ok,
So I tried the ice under her and low and behold this morning she came flying out of the coop and has been grazing in the yard all day...Go Figure!

Oh lordy.... that is one scary picture... looks like my BO this morning... only problem is... she is not broody... not yet anyways.... sets in the nest of a good couple of hours everyday.... but then hops out and is normal for the rest of the day. hmmmm....

I am glad you posted this. My EE Ygrainne just yesterday went broody. She's stealing eggs and hogging the favorite nest box. The cochins are annoyed with her and are trying to work out how they can lay eggs where she won't steal them.
