I have had two chicks hatch a day early and i noticed both have silky style feathering, both have five toes on both feet, and have some darker area in their skin, but the most of their skin is whiteish / cream. I was wondering if anyone could show me photos of older silkhorns. BTW Silkie Rooster with White leghorn hen.

They wont be silkie feathered, silkie feathering is recessive so all of the first generation chicks will be smooth feathered.

oh no they on't, these babies got the silkie feathering, doesnt look anything like the white leghorn babies I had just hatch. And the silkie hen and roo weren't together within a 3 week span when I gathered the hatching eggs. And they have whitish skin.

So they are just going to make up their own genetic rules then and be silkie feathered ???????? Do you have any pictures.

Not if the Leghorn had 1 copy. It could happen.
