I have a red silkie that is 6 months old, she started just sitting...not participating with the flock, not scratching...just sitting. I removed her and put her in a crate for 24 hours to make sure she wasn't hurt in any way...Today when I put her with the flock again, she went off in a corner and sat....Is this Broody? I checked her and could not locate any injury or soreness...just seems to be "alone". Others aren't picking on her. She has layed and egg or two.

1. Is this broody?
2. How long should I keep her isolated.

my silkie has done the same thing a couple times. she thinks shes broody would be my guess lol. she will get over it eventually what i did was locked her out of her "nest" and she eventually got over it lol. if she is separated from the rest of the flock it is ok. dont worry about her

Thank you...I will put her back with the flock tomorrow and watch...she is so sweet.

Silly broody silkies. I have one that sits in the corner of the coop on the ground. No eggs to sit on or anything. Just my silly broody silkie.
