Hi all, my little silkie girl who has just begun to lay has this little thing she does when I approach her. She tries to get away and then when I corner her she sqats and pounds her little feet so fast. This little cloud of dust puffs up from beneath her. It is the cutest little behavior. I know she must be afraid or something. Is she trying to warn me to stay away from the egg??? She just started doing it a few days before she layed her first egg. Any thoughts???

she's preparing for you to breed her i'm sure..... watch her when the roo gets near.

ETA: I've got a silkie hen that does the same thing, only she doesn't pound her feet.
