silkie blue/black /splash question

what color are the splash silkies when they hatch?
do they look like the blues but with dark spots or do they start white with black spots and then change?

mine hatch out light kind of yellowish tinged I don't have any pics

My splash almost look like lavenders when they hatch. Pale, smokey grey.

Here is one of my splash. They almost look gray with a yellow-ish tinge.

I'm scratching my head now.
I have this yellowish chick with black "s" on the back of the head and grayish fuzz on the mid back, mild striping.

probably a splash? or do you think some other color.
boys are black, red, white x 2
girls are blue, white, buff

and one mystery girl who starting to look like a boy splash.
I don't think the white is laying yet and black roo pretty well covers all the girls.
chicks that have hatched are 6 black, 5 blue (some with bits of black spots), 1 buff and this one.

Sounds like it might be sort of partridge colored.

sorry went back to look, soft gray in the middle of the back but not striped after all. i did take a picture if my computer will cooperate, i'll upload it.

I finally got my camera to upload this picture.
on day 3 still the same coloring and still appears white on the wing tips.
hopefully now we can find out what color "super chicken" is- named for the "s" on the back of the head.
