Silkie Breeding

so #3, #6 and #9 are the ones who have smooth feathers (#6 and #9 are clearly mixed - shows in their toes and #9 is obviously just not a silkie lol. #3 is the one I was curious about, if she had come from my satin or not.

since the pictures were taken they've grown more and 6 more hatched all of which are even more obviously silkies.

Also another clue that your Barred Rock has fathered some chicks, is the chicks should have some form of a headspot.



Silkie Feathering is Recessive, so it won't show in the first generation.

Just a note: The polydactly gene is Semi Dominant, so some will either inherit the trait, or not inherit it.
(Some Pure Bred silkies can actually be born with 4 toes instead of 5)
