Silkie chick 4wk wobbly sleepy unstable

Continue the sugar water every hour. It's a good sign it's responding to the sugar water. For whatever reason, its glucose levels dropped. There may be no obvious reason for this or we may get a hint of what sent it into the nosedive by tomorrow, so keep a close eye on it.

When it starts to move about, assess whether it seems to have a balance problem or weak legs or any other thing that may seem not quite right.

Continue to monitor its poop.

A little more eating by itself and slightly more alert, but still wobbly and sleepy.

Just wondering if I should put him back with mumma hen tonight? I could move him back inside in the morning if he's not going well - I just don't want mumma to reject him so how long can I leave him alone without mother hen before she will not recognize him as her own chick anymore?

She may have already rejected the chick. Best to assume that. I'm afraid it will not be able to rejoin the others until after the broody is done raising them.

You can try, but you need to observe for awhile to be sure it's okay with Mama hen.

Thank you for your help!
An hour ago the chick seemed a bit better eating by itself so I put the chick back with mother hen and they are doing very well. The chick seemed to perk up immediately when mother hen called, running around eating drinking no problem now. I will keep watch though but so far it's all excellent news!!

She took them to their coop first then staying inside the larger coop area with the other chickens as it is very windy and cold now so I'm glad she decided to do that.
Heres a pic of them just now.. the 3 chicks are snuggled under mother Puff (white hen)

No compost pile. I see random white half eaten mushrooms in the yard don't know if ok for chickens to have eaten that?
I know it seems better now but my we thought my turkey had Marek's once, but didn't. He could hardly walk and was acting a lot like your chick was but didn't have any other symptoms. My mom's theory is that he ate a mushroom in our garden. We haven't had it happen since now that we don't let them in it.

That's wonderful news! Let's hope the chick is totally back to normal come morning!
So far so good! Chick seems well this morning running around like normal. So if it did eat something bad it has coped with it maybe or just hadn't eaten/drank enough - although he is the largest chick out of the 3. I still have the emergency container/ heatlamp set up in case it goes back downhill.
It is frosty here, a very cold snap for Spring time so hopefully they'll cope with the 10 degree dip - at least they have a walking heat source mumma hen 😊

The mushrooms just pop up randomly - the ones I saw were in the enclosed area so not even outside in their yard ranging area so I can't block them off. I'll just have to do a sweeping look over the yard daily and pull up any mushrooms I see. There could be many other toxic plants around the yard I don't know of too.
The chicks are especially adventurous eating lots of different things so it's hard to stop them.. one of the 6 wk olds caught a worm the other day, all hell broke loose in the coop when everyone noticed 😂 the chase was on!
