Four days ago, one of my silkies, Ice, had a recent successful hatch of 5 chicks but had one more egg left over. I candled and discovered it was alive but behind on development. I put it back in Ice's nest and hoped it would hatch under her but she is up and moving with the chicks and Licorice rolled it into her nest. It has hatched under her but I only let her go broody four days ago. Will she adopt it and care for it or will she only be interested in sitting? Should I give it back to Ice?
