Silkie chick colors!!

Oh ok :) sweet! I was just saw that you asked about it in your first post, and it didn't look like anyone had answered you back on it. So I was just passing on some information lol ;) they are super cute though! I wish I could find some buffs, blues, and splashes around here, your so lucky! I've only got a black and a white chick so far.

Thanks! Ya ive joined a couple other silkie groups over the last few weeks and learned alot :) thanks for answering my questions though. I think I was more curious why some were vaulted and some werent but I guess its normal. Their colors are more prominent now to :)

Thanks guys :) Where are all my silkie owners on here? Did I post in the correct place? I have read several really long threads from here with people sharing their silkies. Where are those people? I wanna see what else everybody thinks and see if they have pics to share :)
You started a new thread instead of posting to one of the threads that many silkie breeders read and respond to...

I hope so to. :) I am really curious if my buff w/grey back is going to be a partridge even though those are typically stiped. Or if it will just be a darker buff or something? And I am very curious about the silver colored one. I thought it was splash but im starting to wonder because I dont really see any second tones in it, so im wondering if its actually lavender or really light blue. I think she and the white will look so cute together :)

it's partridge.

the silvery coloured one is probably splash. It is not lavender or blue.

I posted this question 3 weeks ago when I was brand new to byc and figuring out where to post. Now I have joined a group all about silkies. I lost some of the chicks that are shown in the day old photos I posted. But I posted updated pics of all my babies. I have one splash, two whites (one with brown areas still on it), a black, buff, and dark blue.

Here's new pics of all my babies at 3 weeks old :) Black chick#1 Unrelated batch. Nice leg feathering but no puff on head yet. White chick#2 My favorite girl :) Very fluffy, huge crest. Blue chick#3 Unrelated batch. Sweet face, look at that tiny poof on her head lol. Cream/white chick#4 One of the biggest, and showing possibilities of being male. Splash chick# 5 Tons of dark silver splashes coming out on her wings, tail, feet feathers :) Buff chick#6 Lovely orange color, with a nice crest :)
Your "blue" chick may be a splash as well and your cream colored one may be a Porcelain...I'm no pro but most all of the chicks I hatch are blue as adults and they do not look like your little one as chicks:] hope that helps :)

The "blue" turned out pretty much a dark blue everywhere, and the cream one turned out very white :) Funny how they turn out sometimes. I have a bunch of little blues who are very light as babies but their wings and shoulder feathers are coming in pretty dark. One im sure is going to be a blue with maybe lighter silver wings, and then a few others its hard to tell but im hoping they might be a darker splash but they to are coming in dark in the wings so im starting to think they are going to be blue also. The only splash im getting are from the super light (almost white) colored chicks with just a tiny of blue by the eyes and as they get bigger they turn more lavender and then get splashes in their wings around 2 wks. Its ok if I dont get a darker splash, as long as at least one of my lighter splash turns out a girl lol. I love the color whether is a light or dark splash. Just love these lil babies :)

Oh and here's a pic of my newest splash babies. The lighter ones are the obvious splash (getting splashes in wings already) but the darker ones im "Hoping" could be darker splash but I cant tell yet for sure. The wings are coming in a silver color and the shoulders are coming in a dark blue and they are about a week in a half old now.
