Ok so I had this lone quail and someone told me he would be happier with a friend so I give him one of our older (10wks) silkie chicks to be his buddy.
Seemed ok so I leave them alone for a while.
About an hour later I go out and check and the quail has completely scalped down to the boney part of the skull this poor chick. Mangles its wings too. Not sure if it was raping the chick or just beating the crap out of it.
Anyway what are the chances of it surving with its skull exposed?
I dont want it to go through more pain if its not going to make it anyway. It is eating and drinking normally.
I covered it in triple antibiotic ointment and have it in sick bay in the den.
Do you guys want to see pics? Its really gross looking at its skull!
