Silkie Chicken Breeders

Hello,

I have some questions about breeding silkies. Well, how do you keep your information? Do you jot generations, pairs...etc in a journal or? Do you have any tips on breeding silkies? Thanks all info will help

When the chicks hatch I toe puch to mark either mating or month hatched. Once they get a bit bigger I will put the wing bands on. If I don't toe punch I mark the chicks with permenant marker when they hatch, then put the wing bands on a couple days later when I get around to it. I keep track of parents, hatch month year, breeder (if I hatch eggs from another breeder), lines, etc.
