Silkie chicken lethargic, thin with recent heavy breathing- cause

What should I check for. Should I give any type of med.

Have you ruled out mites and worms? These can lead to lethargy and losing weight (and death). I don't know about the heavy breathing though- unless it is due to anemia caused by the blood loss.

Just about all I have read about Silkies is if they get mites it's usually on their head so be sure to check real good in those feathers. Do you have any electrolytes or baby vitsw/o iron might give her some in her water or dribble on her beak. If your not sure what your dealing with it would be hard to know how to medicate. How old is you silkie? has she ever been wormed?
