Silkie Chickens

Hello all, I am new to chickens and just wondering what color silkies hatch? I thought I bought white ones but they are all coming out black. I have heard the change color, is this true? Does anyone have experience hatching silkies.

Are you hatching the eggs? Or are they chicks?

My Grand daughter had a white pair of Silkies, when they had a single hatch the chick looked dark & not white. Silkies skin is dark/black ... When the chick dried up completely it "turned" white.
