Hi, the other day I got some silkie chicks at an exhibition. They're about 4 days old now, and the seller said they would probably be white, and all are mostly yellow, but some seem to have greyish spots on them while others appear to have reddish tints. I am curious, is there any way to tell what color they're going to be when they grow up? And if so, is there a chart or something you could link me to?

Thanks

the fullt yellow ones will (should anyways) turn out white, and the ones with grey and redish tints might turn out white with grey or red (depends on the chick) tips of their wings

White in silkies is recessive, and prevents all plumage colour. pale yellow down chicks are probably white with the gold gene; more vibrant yellow would indicate buff. Grey/silvery down indicates white with silver gene. Yeloow and blue-grey on hte same chick is probably splash. Do you have a photo of the chicks?
