I got this 5 month old cockerel and I know he is not of supreme quality but would he produce some decent offspring or should I get a different one?Does the comb look ok? Thanks

Comb is a little large but it is a walnut comb, which the standard calls for. His crest is more troublesome to me. But he is still young and needs more time to mature and molt once to see how he is going to develop. I always let me cockerels "any breed" get to about a year old before I decide if any can be used for breeding. Even longer with my Orpingtons and Brahmas. I'd say he needs more time to mature and hopefully his comb doesn't get any larger or it will be out of proportion.
