Your 2025 Garden

Out of town for 5 days, gardens were dying due to heat so I didn't expect much when I returned. However, the tomatoes are still hanging on. I also noticed a couple tiny watermelons, but the sweet potato vines are taking over!

And the weeds...one week's worth.

Most pulled up by hand, we had lots of rain yesterday.

Why I grow parsley:

It is a host plant for Black swallowtail butterflies!

I went to the garden this morning it was starting to drizzle light rain. Working quickly I picked 5 more pumpkins, 6 butternut squash, cucumbers and 2 watermelons. The rain stopped so I dead headed the zinnias and some of the marigolds.
I was about to cut some zinnias to take to the house and pick some butterbeans. Big drops started coming down.
Uh oh, better hurry! Too late! It was coming down in buckets! Jumped on the golf cart and went speeding to the house.

I was soaked. :lau Couldn't help but laugh.

For the record they said showers after noon. It was only 10am. I think they missed it.
